Caracas.- Delcy Rodríguez, Vice-president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, announced the transfer of the offices of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) Europe, which were located in Lisbon, Portugal, to Moscow, as part of the plans established by worker-president Nicolás Maduro, with the view to strengthen relations with Russian oil companies such as Rosneft and Gazprom.
The statement was delivered during a press conference with the presence of Mr. Serguéi Lavrov, Foreign Affair minister of Russia, as part of an official visit aiming at strengthening bilateral commitments.
“Venezuela will exert right and legal actions to warranty a clear process to defend our legitimate interest and rights we uphold as a country”, said Mrs. Rodríguez, denouncing that the United States and other countries that go against Venezuela “have deprived us from our assets or financial resources, such is the case of the British Government that through the Bank of England decided to take hold of Venezuelan gold”, she added.
Mrs. Rodríguez assured that Venezuela and Latin America do not require a military intervention, but peace, stability and calm. With respect to the humanitarian aid, she explained that the Venezuelan Government is in a working process with United Nation international cooperation agencies to receive technical humanitarian assistance through this organization or through countries with which Venezuela has cooperation mechanisms, such as Russia, but never from those countries which have exerted arbitrary and unilateral actions against Venezuela.
She stressed that the path toward bilateral and international relations will keep on consolidating, apart from enlarging trade and cooperation relations.
Mrs. Rodríguez also said that “president Maduro gave instructions to acquire foods and medicines in Russia for the Venezuela people, as well as technical assistance to install in Venezuela the necessary technology to produce those items”.
On his side, Serguéi Lavrov, the Russian chancellor, reaffirmed his Government support to President Nicolás Maduro. He rejected the military intervention they pretend to apply to the Latin American country and regretted the reject of a dialogue by the opposition.
